Sisters In Sobriety
Program Description: Sisters In Sobriety is a six (6) month program whose services include individual and group counseling, classes on chemical dependency, self-esteem, assertiveness, parenting skills, anger management, relapse prevention, domestic violence, and nutrition. Staff also provide vocational training and job readiness classes, supervised job search, and placement. Recreation and physical education classes are offered several times a week. Clients attend 12-Step meetings at the program and in the community. A component of Adult Basic Education is located at the Woodville campus and all clients are administered academic testing upon admission. GED preparation and testing are available. Additional services include nursing assessments and clinical visits on-site, twenty-four (24) hour on-call nursing, random urinalysis, case management, transportation, HIV education, counseling, and testing, and discharge planning. SIS is a women only facility. The referrals come from Department of Corrections; the Department of Children and Families; self-referrals and/or from other agencies or professionals.
