Community Outreach and Intervention Specialist
Community Outreach and Intervention Specialist (COIS) services are in-home family preservation services for families who volunteer to accept these services who are at risk of becoming involved in the dependency system. COIS are a collaborative effort between Big Bend Community Based Care and other providers. The major goal of these services is the immediate and long-term protection of the child’s permanency, safety, and well-being. This is achieved by producing services that encourage and support eh prevention or recurrence of abuse, neglect, or abandonment. These services are implemented with the ultimate goal of providing assistance to families in crisis so that children may be cared for in their own homes.
Families eligible for services must reside in Liberty, Wakulla, Franklin, or Gadsden counties and eligible for TANF.
